Xiao-Jia Chen

Xiao-Jia Chen is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute for Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and a research scientist at the Carnegie Institution of Washington. He is a scientist of Washington's Geophysical Laboratory (GL) and is also a key member of the Center for Energy Frontier Research at Extreme Environments funded by the United States Department of Energy. He obtained his doctorate degree in 1997 in condensed matter physics from Zhejiang University. His research interests include: transport properties of supeconductors, magnetism and behavior of complex electronic systems under high pressure. He has published over 70 papers, over 10 of which were in Nature, PNAS and PRL. By March, 2013, these papers have been cited over 1,000 times.


Alexander Goncharov

Alexander F. Goncharov's research concentrates on analyzing materials under extreme conditions such as high pressure and temperature using optical spectroscopy and other techniques. He received a Ph.D in physics from the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Spectroscopy in 1983, and a combined MA and MSc in physics from the Moscow Institute for Physics and Technology in 1979. He has published over 160 papers, 2 of which are in Nature, 7 in Science, 1 in Nautre Chemistry, 1 in Nature Geoscience, 16 in the most famous physics international journal Physical Review Letters, and the total paper citations are as high as 2583 times, widely recognized by the international academic community.



Eugene Gregoryanz

Eugene Gregoryanz is a condensed matter experimental physicist, with a particular interest in the properties of simple systems (mostly elements) at extreme conditions, namely high static pressures and high/low temperatures. After obtaining his PhD, he was recruited by the high pressure (HP) group of the Geophysical Laboratory (GL), USA. In 2002, he joined the Laboratoire de Mineralogie-Crystallographie de Paris (LMCP), U. Paris-V.His achievements have been recognised in his appointment to a full academic position at Reader level by the U. of Edinburgh at the School of Physics and Astronomy. In 2011 he was awarded a EPSRC Leadership Fellowship to synthesize and study novel states of matter at extreme conditions. In 2012, he was promoted  to a Personal Chair (professorship) of Extreme Conditions Physics.  He has published many papers, including  ones in Nature, Science, Nature Physics/ Materials, PRL and PNAS.

Graduated from the Special Class of gifted young of University of Science and Technology of China. Received the Ph.D. certificate in Condensed Matter Physics from USTC in 2010. From October 2010 to May 2015, worked as a postdoctor in Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) of Saudi Arabia. Science December 2015, be employed as a professor in Institute of Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). Published over 30 papers on Small, JACS, PRB, APL, et al. My research interest is focusing on the transition metal compounds under high pressure, such as superconductivity, spintronic materials, magnetism.

Dr Fuhai Su received the Ph.D in the institute of semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) in 2006. After the postdoctoral research in Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Germany (July, 2006-November, 2007) and University of Alberta in Canada (March, 2008-November, 2010), he joined in institute of solid state physics, CAS as associate professor. His current research majors in the ultrafast optics and terahertz spectroscopy under extreme conditions such as high magnetic field and high pressure.

Hua-Chao Jiang finished his undergraduate studies in 2010, majoring in Mechanical design at Harbin Institute of technology. He received his master's degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University in 2013. He has been a mechanical engineer at CEMEE since April, 2013.

Xiao-Di Liu has studied in the University of Science and Technology of China for a doctoral degree from September of 2008 to June of 2013, majoring in condensed matter physics. She joined the group of CMCEE in June 2013 as a research assistant. Her interests include: optical and other properties of condensed materials under high pressure or low temperature, NV centers in diamond. She is experienced in the building of optical measurement system, optical spectroscopy measurement

Xue Yang has studied in Jilin University for a doctoral degree from 2009 to 2014, majoring in condensed matter physics. She received her PhD degree in the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials in 2014. She joined the group of CMCEE in July 2014 as a research assistant. Her interests include: structural phase transitions and properties of materials under high pressure or low temperature,superconductors. She is experienced in the experimental measurements of Raman spectroscopy and  X-ray diffraction at high pressure.

Ziyu. Cao got his master degree at Shandong University at 2014.
